SUBJECT:
Executive Pay Plan Resolution
INTRODUCTION
This report requests that Council adopt the attached Resolution
amending the Executive Pay Plan.
BACKGROUND
City Department Heads and executive staff of the city Manager's
Office are not represented by bargaining units. Their salary and
benefit package is established by resolution.
The attached resolution modifies the executive pay plan resolution
adopted by city council on August 13, 1991 and provides for a cost
of living increase for all participants in the executive pay plan
and equity adjustments for three positions: Fire Chief, Police
Chief and Director of Resource Management.
The equity adjustments for the Fire Chief and Police Chief are
based on external labor market factors. The equity adjustment for
the third position, Director of Resource Management (currently
titled Director of Municipal Airport), is based on an expansion of
duties resulting from the consolidation of two departments which
resulted in a budget savings of approximately $350,000.
