A revised version of page eight of the above mentioned report is
attached.
The table on this page was based on incorrect base
data.
The correct figures now are represented.
These small
analytical errors do not affect proj ected fund balances or the
requested rate increase.

lncrease again 1n FY1988/89. The amount of lncrease lS unknown

The rates resultlng from th1S lncrease wl11 put Santa Monlca
Refuse serVlce rates for resldentlal customers relatively h1gh
when compared to local comparable C1tles (See Exhiblt III).
However, Santa Monlca lncludes the cost of street cleanlng and
recycllng and a min1mum of tWlce per week serVlce in the refuse
fee. The comparable C1tles llsted include only the cost of
refuse collectlon ln the1r rates. The proposed rates for
commerclal users remaln very competltlve wlth other agenc1es and
local private refuse companles.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA REVISING FEES CHARGED FOR
GENERAL CITY SANITATION SERVICES, SANITATION
BIN RENTAL AND ROLL-OUT SERVICES
WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 5233 alloT.vs fees for
general city sanitation services to be set by resolution; and
WHEREAS, Municipal Code Section 5228D allows fees for
Clty sanitation bin rental and roll-out fees to be set by
resolution; and
WHEREAS, a study has determined the need to increase
a2..l sanitation fees so that the City can recover its costs fer
providing sanitation services; and
w~EREAS, the fees established by this Resolution are no
more than necessary to recover the costs of the services
provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The charges for sanitation service, as
provided for in Municipal Code Section 5233, shall be as follows:
