Introduction
Attached lS A Comprehensive Crlme Prevent~on program For Santa
Monlca. ThlS document represents the maln work of the Santa
Monlca Crlme Prevention Task Force, appolnted by the Clty
Counell on May 12, 1981, for the purpose of developing such
a prograM.
Background
This report was prepared by the Task Force over the per10d
May, 1981, through January, 1982. It attempts to account for
the dlverslty of interests wlthin Santa Monica by consolidatlng
these lnterests lnto a comprehenslve set of recommendatlons
WhlCh are lntended to give dlrectlon in addressing the
community's crime problems. The Task Force adopted the overall
program on January 18, 1982, and approved the report In flnal
form on February 1, 1982.
Recommendation
It lS respectfully reco~ended that the City Councll consider
the recommendations of the Crime Prevention Task Force and
deClde on further action on the report at their February 9, 1982,
rreetlng.
