Introduction
This report transmits the above proposed resolution
to City Council for consideration and approval.
Backgroud
The Airport Commission at its regular meeting, Wednesday,
May 11, 1977, indicated its prime concern relative to
F.A.A. 's stated refusal to inform in-coming Jet pilots
of the City's "NO JET" ban) unanimously adopted the
above resolution, for council approval and further
requested the Council distribute copies of same to all
its Washington representatives.
Recommendation
Approve attached resolution, and distribute same (in add-
ition to F.A.A. officials) to all the City's Washington
representatives.

REQUESTING ~HAT THE FAA ADVISE
JET PILOTS OF SECTION lOl05(A)
OF THE SANTA MONICA MUNICIPAL
CODE
WHEREAS the C~ty of Santa Monlca is greatly
concerned that the FAA falls to adVlse lncomlng Jet pl10ts
of the prohlbitlon on Jet alrcraft expressed ln Sectlon
lOl05(A) of the Santa Monlca Munlclpal Code; and
WHEREAS the Clty of Santa Monica feels that said
fallure by the FAA to lnform Jet pllots places the Clty of
Santa Monlca in an untenable pos~tlon, by virtue of the
fact that Jet pllots land unaware of possible vlolatlons of
the Santa Monica Munlclpal ordinances.
THEREFORE, the Clty of Santa Monlca hereby requests
that the FAA lnform jet alrcraft lntendlng to land at the
Santa Monica Municlpal Alrport of Sectlon lOl05(A) of the
Santa Monica Municlpal Code, ln good falth comp11ance wlth
the consent decree entered lnto by the FAA and the City of
Santa Monica in the cases of USA v. ~~ty of Santa Monlca,
75-1332-~~lL, and City of Santa Monlca v. USA, 75-l347-~llvlli.
