Back<;rround On May 2nd the Planning Commission approved a Tentative Tract Map for the former McDonnell-Douglas site. A number of condi- tions were attached to the map but three of the limitations the Commission wished considered were not properly included as part of the approval. Consequently, they were adopted as recommendations to the City Council and include the following: 1. No street parking should be allowed on the south side of Ocean Park Boulevard between 25th Street and Centinela Avenue. 2. That the City-o\~ed land should not be used for expansion of the airport. 3. That in considering future uses and land exchange at the very minimum, Lot 1 of the newly approved tract should be put into public mixed recreational use. Alternatives Not applicable. On Monday, May 2, 1977 the city Planning Cowmission approved a Tentative Tract Map for development of the former McDonnell-Douglas site which provides for the possibility of a land exchange to accommodate improved recreational and open space opportunities for the City-owned properties. In the course of these considerations the Co~~ission also approved several special recommendations to the City Council regarding future de- velopment of the property. These special reco~~endations include the following: 1. No street parking should be allowed on the south side of Ocean Park Boulevard between 25th Street and Centinela Avenue. 2. That the City-owned land should not be used for expansion of the airport. 3. That in considering future uses and land exchange at-the very minimum, Lot 1 of the newly approved tract should be put into public mixed recreational use.
