SUBJECT: Clover Park Baseball Field - Use by Santa Monica College
Introduction
This report informs the Clty Councll of the use of Clover Park by Santa Monlca College.
Background
Staff was approached by Santa Monica College for permlsslon to use the baseball
diamond at Clover Park to play their league ga~es and practices. After discusslon
wlth the college representatives, it was determlned to enable the college to use this
facillty it would be necessary to construct two warm-up mounds and homeplates. These
ltems would be on the thlrd and first base outfield areas of the dlamond and would
in no way interfere with lntended soccer use of the fleld.
This matter was brought before the Recreatlon and Parks Commission at their July 16
meeting, and was dlscussed, and was unanlmously approved by the Recreatlon and Parks
Commission.
RecomendatlOn
Staff recommends that Santa Monica College be allowed to construct the mound and home-
plate areas at Clover Park, and be able to use that facility for their games and
practlces.
