ReSldentlal Uses 1n the C2 and C4 Dlstrlcts
Introductlon
Thls report transmlts the Plann1ng COMffilSS10n1s recommendatlon
that residentlal uses be permltted above the flrst floor In the
C2 and C4 COmMerclal Dlstrlcts.
Background
Resldentlal uses are presently not perMltted In the C2 Nelghbor-
hood COMMerclal Districts and only above the thlrd floor 1n the
C3 and C4 Dlstricts. The Plannlng COMffilSS10n recommends the Code
be changed to allow resldential uses above the flrst floor In the
C2 and C4 Dlstrlcts. A slmilar recommendatlon for the C3 Distrlct
wlll be lncluded In a later recommendatlon. The proposed change
lS to encourage addlt10nal houslng constructlon.
Alternatlves
The Clty Council may act favorably on any recommendation of the
Plannlng COMffilSS10n by d~rectlng the Cl-:y Attorney to prepare the
necessary ordlnances.
Recommendatlon
It lS respectfully reomrnmended the Councll act favorably upon the
recommendatlon and Qlrect the Clty Attorney to prepare the requlred
ordlnance and return It for conslderatlon.
