ThlS report transmlts the Plannlng COffiffilsslon's recommendatlon
that postlng be requlred in addltlon to malled and publlshed
notlces,

Present regulations requlre that offlclal notlce of publlC
hearlngs on subdlvlslonsr zone changes, use permlts and varlances
be mal led to deslgnated property owners of record and publlshed In
the legal notlce sectlon of the Evenlng Outlook. The proposed
amendment would add the requlrement that an adequate notlce be
posted on the property as well to acquaint nelghbors, passersby
and others wlth the proposed actlon. Posting would be by slgns
Slmllar to those now used in the weed abatement program.
Alternatives
The Clty Councll may act favorably on the COffimlSSlOn's recom-
mendatlon by dlrectlng the Clty Attorney to prepare the required
ordlnance or may reJect the recommendatlon by takJng no further
actlon. Taking no actlon would leave the present notiflcation
procedures lntact,
