INTRODUCTION
This report transmIts for adopt1on an ordInance setting
the term for the MetropolItan Water DIstrlct Representative at
four years.
BACKGRODND
ThIS ordInance was Introduced by Council as Item 8E at
lts September 23, 1980 meetIng.
Although there 15 presently an ordInance settIng the term
of the CIty'S representative at four years, It IS not recognIzed
by the DIstrIct.
The CIty'S present ordInance does not co~ply
WIth the Dlstrlct Act requirement that the four year term commence
on January 1 of an odd-numbered year. ThIS ordInance amends the
eXIstlng ordInance to Include the omitted prOVISIon.
