The Recreatlon and Parks COmffi1SS10n met 1fi regular session on January 21, 1982. At
that meeting the task force report on the Arts Comnission was presented. Followlng a
review and dlScussion of that report, a mot1on was made to forward the following
recommendation to the Council.
Commissioner Powell moved to recommend to the Clty Council that a member of the Recreation
and Parks Commission act as lia1son to the new Arts Commlssion. It was also requested
that conSlderation be glven to the 1% auto sales tax and the 10% Shell 011 plpellne
lease revenue to be allocated to renewable resources for Recreatlon and Parks acqulsition
as opposed to the arts. The rnotlon was seconded by Chairperson Llbuser.
