INTRODUCTION
ThIS report requests that CIty CouncIl approve the appoIntment of
WIllIam MorteYlse~ to fIll vaca~cy on the Board of DIrectors of
the Santa MO~lca Arts FoundatIon.
BACKGROUND
At Its meetil'lg o~ November 8, 1983, CIty Coul'lcIl approved the
membershIp of the Board of DIrectors of the Santa MOYllca Arts
Foundatiol'l. SInce that tIme, however~ one of the Board members,
Nancy EYlglander, has reslgned.
AccordIng to the Bylaws of the FoundatIon as approved by Clty
COU'1CIl en February 28, 1984, vacanc les on the Board are fllled
by CIty CCU'1cil upon the recomme~datlon of the Arts CcmmIssio~.
At Its meetl'1g on June 18, 1984, the Arts CommI SSlon recommended
that WIllIam Mortensen be appol"lted to replace Ms. E'1glal1der on
the Board.

RECOMMENDATION
It is respectfully recommended that City Council appOI'1t William
Mortensen to fIll the vacancy on the Board of Directors of the
Santa Menica Arts Fou'1datlon.
