Subject: Amendment to Contract with Martin & Chapman
Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize an amendment of $16,949.56 to
Contract No. 8614 (CCS) with Martin & Chapman, from an amount not to exceed
$106,000 to an amount not to exceed $122,949_56, for election services for the Santa
Monica General Municipal Election on November 7, 2006.
Executive Summary
On June 13, 20~, Council approved Contract No. 8614 with Martin & Chapman in the
amount of $106,000, for services and supplies related to the November 2006 electipn.
The mailing of the Voter Information Pamphlets, including postage and handling, was
condueted separately by a mailing house at a cost of $19,905.00, and a check in that
amount was issued directly to the mailing house. However, because the check was
transmit#ed through Martin & Chapman staff, and the funds were included in Martin &
Chapman's final bill as a receipt and disbursement, the services are deemed to have
been performed by Martin & Chapman, thereby requiring an amendment to the contract.

The funds for the mailing charge are available in the current budget. Authorization of
the contract amendment will allow use of these funds to pay the balance of Martin &
Chapman's invoice.

#8614) are available in accounts 0'C212.522320 and 01212.555060.
