INTRODUCTION This report recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an amendment to Agreement 7482 (CCS) with Valley Oak Systems, Inc. for the purchase of an expanded risk management information system for the Risk Management Division of the City Manager’s Office in an amount not to exceed $65,600. BACKGROUND City staff will begin to administer workers’ compensation claims benefits beginning July 1, 2001. Additional software modules must be added to the existing risk management information system to administer benefit payments and required regulatory and financial record keeping. The City has an existing software license and maintenance agreement with Valley Oak Systems, Inc., which was selected after an extensive review process. BUDGET/FINANCIAL IMPACT Funds totaling $65,600 are available in the following accounts: $45,600 in 59206.533580 (Computer Equipment Maintenance) and $20,000 in 59235.522090 (Miscellaneous Costs). RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract amendment with Valley Oak Systems, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $65,600 for an expanded risk information system.
