Introduction
This report is a request for author~zation to renew a long-
standing license to use:SCRTD RimDa~ bus term~nal by the

Background
The Santa Monica Municlpal Bus Lines has for many years used
the Rimpau Terminal at the corner of Pico & Rimpau Boulevard in
the City of Los Angeles. The use of th~s terminal, owned by the
Southern California Rapid Transit District, has been made
possible by a license agreement between the City and SCRTD.
The last increase in the license fee occurred on March 1, 1979
at which time the fee was established at $891.22 per month
(SMCC Resolution 5278) SCRTD has agreed to continue the license
arrangement for an addit~onal three years, March 1, 1982 through
February 28, 1985 at the rate of $1,000 00 per month Staff
feels that the license should be renewed at that rate.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the City Council adopt the attached
resolution to authorize the City Manager to execute a three-year
agreement, cOrnLlencing March 1, 1982, with SCRTD for renewal of
the license to use the Rampau Terminal at the rate of $1,000.00
per month.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAi~TA MONICA AUTHORIZING RENEWAL OF THE
LICENSE AGREEMENT FOR USE OF THE PICO-RIMPAU
BUS TERl"fINAL
WHEREAS, the agreement with Southern California Rapid Transit
District for use of the Pico-Rampau Bus Terminal will expire on
February 28, 1982, and
WHEREAS, use of this terminal is necessary for use as a
passenger interchange point; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Rapid Transit District is
faborable to a renewal of the agreement for the period March I, 1982
through February 28, 1985, at the rate of $1,000.00 per month,
NOW, THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the need exists to use
the Pico-Rimpau Bus Terminal for an additional three-year period.
SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to enter into and
execute on behalf of the City a three-year license agreement with the
Southern California Rapid Transit District for use of the Pico-Rampau
Bus Terminal.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in
full force and effect.
