the Tool Cart Room and Administrative Services Office
at the Bus Yards
Introductioh
This report requests that the city council award a contract for
the construction and remodel of the Tool Cart Room (1620 sixth
street) and Administrative Services Office (1660 Seventh street)
at the Bus Yards to Kevin Kraus, the lowest responsible bidder,
in the amount of $24,925.
Background
As construction of the Transportation Department Admininstration
Building neared completion, a study performed by the City's
Management Services Department recommended the creation of the
Administration Division and changes to the Maintenance Division.
Temporary measures were taken at that time to accomodate this
reorganization in the new facility.
The remodel will provide
space to house staff of both the new division and additional
personnel of the Maintenance Division.
Plans and specifications for the remodel were prepared by the
Department of General Services and approved in concept by the
Transportation Department. A Notice Inviting Bids was published
on March 9th and loth, 1987 in the Evening Outlook and sent to
four construction journals and seven minority associations.
Plans and specifications were issued to eighteen contractors.
