Lights at John Adams Middle School
INTRODUCTION
This report recommends that the City Council award a contract for
installation of soccer field lights at John Adams Middle School to
Electro Construction Corporation, the lowest responsible bidder,
ln the amount of $128,777.00.
BACKGROUND
This project involves the installation of new field lights for
evening and night-time use of the soccer practice fields at John
Adams Middle School.
Based on a mutual-use agreement with the
Santa Monica-Malibu unified School District, the city.s Recreation
Division schedules and issues field use permits for community
groups at the John Adams Middle School ballfields.
In determining the type of lighting to be used, energy efficient
lamps were of primary consideration. This new lighting will save
approximately $15/hour in energy costs in comparison with the
lighting on the existing field.
