Robert Morris has requested an extenslon of his Coastal Permit
relatlng to his lease on the Pier. By the attached letter, I
have lnvited him to the Councll meeting of January 27th, 1981.
I feel it is necessary to discuss the lease with Mr. Morris
and the Councll in order to formulate a posit1on to be presented
to the Coasta) Com~ission at their February 2nd meeting.
Mr. Morr1s have ind1cated to the staff his intent not to
perform under the terms of hlS lease. He has indicated he wlll
sell hlS lnterest 1n the lease rather than develop as required.
In view of thlS lntent, it would be my recommendat1on the Council
d1rect staff to proceed with the term1nation of Mr. Morrls' lease
and to so notlfy the South Coast Regional Com~ission.
