SUBJECT: Supplemental Information Item to Item 7A
City staff recommends making the following adjustments:
a) to the Assessments; b) to the Superintendent's Report.
To the Assessments
Revise the Assessment for 815 Grant Street from $750.00 to
$00.00. In as much as City forces broke a gas line serving the
subject property causing loss of revenue and inconvenience to the
property owner, the City Attorney has authorized the waiver of
the entire assessment. The property owner is to sign a waiver as
to any future claims regarding this incident.
To the superintendent's Report
Revise the street Superintendent's Report to show remove and
replace 1185 square feet of sidewalk at $6.00 per square foot.
The total amount of revised assessments if $4,572.75.

A hearing must be held pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 22,
sections 5600 to 5630, of the Streets and Highways Code of the
state of California. A Resolution setting the public hearing for
october 9, 1990, is attached.
BUdget/Financial Impact
The financial analysis, which will indicate total revenues to be
derived froIn this assessment district over the next two years,
will be presented to City Council at the time of public hearing.
Recommendation
It is recommended the City Council adopt the attached Resolution
setting a public hearing for October 9, 1990, on the assessment
of costs of the subject sidewalk repairs.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA SETTING A HEARING DATE FOR ANY
PROTESTS OR OBJECTIONS TO THE REPORT OF THE
SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS REGARDING REPAIR OF
SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, AND CURBS (SR-90-164)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA MONICA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Superintendent of streets will file a
report of repair pursuant to Section 5617 of the streets and
Highways Code of the state of California, relating to the
construction of certain improvements to sidewalks and driveways
at 1538 Yale Street, 1644 Hill street, 2808 Third Street, 3303
17th Street, 1206 Grant Street, 1208 pine street, 1403 Montana
Avenue, 1008 Bay Street, 558 Tenth street, 560 Ninth Street, 602
Tenth street, 1205 Colorado Avenue, 1521 12th street, 1519 12th
street, 1208 Broadway, all within the City of Santa Monica.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 5600 et seq. of said COde,
the City council does hereby order and declare that on the 9th
day of October 1990, at 7:30 P.M., in the city Council Chambers
of City Hall, it will hear and pass upon the report by the
Superintendent of Streets of the cost of repairs, together with
any objections or protests, if any, which may be raised by any
property owner liable to be assessed for the cost of such repairs
and any other interested persons.
SECTION 3. All protests or objections must be in writing
and filed with the City Clerk on or before the time set for the
hearing of the protests and objections.

SECTION 4 .
The Superintendent of streets is hereby
directed to mail notices, in the manner and form prescribed by
law, of the costs of repair and of the adoption of this
Resolution to all persons owning real property affected by the
sidewalk assessment repair program, whose names and addresses
appear on the last equalized assessment roll for the City taxes
or as known to the City Clerk.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
