Staff recommends that the City Council increase a purchase order issued to KME Fire
Apparatus for an aerial ladder truck in the amount of $7,037.33, including applicable
sales tax.
Executive Summary
This report recommends that the City Council authorize the increase of Purchase Order
Number 190683-0P by $7,037.33 including applicable sales tax. This increase is to
cover the cost of modifications/enhancements made to an aerial ladder truck which was
approved for purchase by City Council on February 22, 2005.
Discussion
Backqround
On February 22, 2005, the City Council approved the purchase of a tractor-drawn 100-
foot aerial ladder truck for the Fire Department to replace a 1986 aerial ladder truck
which was no longer cost effective to maintain.

During the construction of the new aerial ladder truck, several
modifications/enhancements were necessary to make the vehicle consistent with
existing equipment and to enhance the operation of the truck. The new total amount to
be paid to KME Fire Apparatus is $790,836.18.

Funds are available in account C010480.589000, "Fire Emergency Response
Apparatus Replacement".
