Recommended Action
Staff recommends that Council adopt the attached proposed ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on October 10, 2006, the City Council introduced for first reading an
ordinance prohibiting smoking in the following locations in the City: outdoor dining
areas; outdoor service areas; areas within 20 feet of entrances, exits or open windows
of buildings open to the public; the Third Street Promenade; and the Farmers Markets.
The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for adoption.
