Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute a
Memorandum of Understanding wi th the Municipal
Employees Association
INTRODUCTION
This report requests that Council adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the City Manager to execute a memorandum of
understanding (MOU) with the Municipal Employees Association
(hereinafter referred to as "MEA").
BACKGROUND
The MOU with MEA expired on June 30, 1987.
Negotiations to
replace this MOU commenced in February and resulted in the
attached MOU. This new agreement was ratified by the membership
of MEA on July 1, 1987.
The agreement includes cost of living increases in both years, a
few equity adjustments to certain classes in the first year, a
one-time only reimbursement plan for some increased out-of-pocket
costs due to changes in the medical plan, and an increase in the
medical "cap" in the second year.

RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that Council adopt the attached Resolution
authorizing the City Manager to execute the attached MOU with the
Municipal Employees Association. ~~
