Santa Monica, California TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Recommendation to Approve Change Order No. 3 to Sully-Miller contracting Co. Contract 4876 (CCS) in the Amount of $13,400 Introduction This report recommends that the City Council approve Change Order No. 3 to Sully-Miller Contracting Co. in the amount of $13,400 to perform additional offsite work. Background SUlly-Miller Contracting Co. was awarded a contract by the City Council on February 24, 1987 to perform the FY 1986-87 street Resurfacing Program. Appropriations from the General Fund, Water Fund, Wastewater Fund and Gas Tax Fund (SB300 Funds) for the purposes of conducting street repairs were combined to issue a single contract in the amount of $1,083,966.65 for a specified list of street repairs. Two change orders were previously issued on this contract totalling approximately $25,000 for offsite work. The offsite work included public right-of-way improvements at the new Sea Colony Development and 592 lineal feet of sidewalk along Palisades Park. The change orders were issued in accordance with the Administrative Instructions on Change Orders for Construction Contracts. - 1 - ,,-M SEP - 8 1981 staff is recommending that the City Council approve Change Order No. 3 in the amount of $13,400 to perform additional offsite work under this contract to take advantage of SUlly-Miller's low unit prices. The proposed work consists of constructing an 185-foot by 20-foot wide asphalt concrete driveway, including redwood headers, at the Arcadia Water Treatment Plant at a total not to exceed $13,400. Budget/Financial Impact Funds are available at Account No. 25-760-671-000-922. Recommendation It is recommended that the City Council approve Change Order No. 3 to SUlly-Miller Contracting Co.
