Recommended Action
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the attached ordinance.
Executive Summary
At its meeting on May 9, 2006, the City Council introduced for first reading an ordinance
adding Chapter 5.40 to the Municipal Code to impose requirements relating to the
retention of grocery workers in certain circumstances involving the transfer of ownership
of large grocery establishments. The ordinance is now presented to the City Council for
adoption.
