Introduction This report recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution that is required in order to accept a California Depalrtment of Water Resources grant to fund the City's Comprehensive Medical Faqility Turn-Key Water Efficiency Program. Backqround On July 22,2003, Council au~horized the City Managerto negotiate and execute a contract with the California Departmert of Water Resources (DWR) to receive a $126,300 grant for the City's Comprehensive ~edical Facility Turn-Key Water Efficiency Program. The program will provide particilpating medical facilities with a water audit, list of retrofit recommendations, and free }Hater conserving products with low or no cost installations. Discussion Subsequent to the July 22, ~003 Council approval, staff was informed by the DWR that a resolution must be adopted Iby the City to accept the grant. The attached resolution is intended to fulfill this requirement. oC111? BudQet/Financiallmpact No budgetary impact will ofcur from the passage of this resolution. Budgetary impacts associated with the progr~m were previously approved in the staff report (Consent Calendar item 1-1) on July ~2, 2003. Recommendation Staff recommends that the fity Council adopt the attached resolution in order to comply with the granting agency's a~ministrative requirements, thereby allowing the City Manager to continue the negotiation +nd execution of a contract with the California Department of Water Resources for a $12~,300 grant to implement the Comprehensive Medical Facility Turn-Key Water Efficiency ~rogram.
