Associates Engineering Consultants are required for the duration of the construction
period and include full time inspection and public relations. A previously approved Change
Order to Harris and Associates Engineering Consultants has depleted the contingency
reserve making it necessary to appropriate additional funds for the additional construction
management and inspection time now required. Staff recommends that the contract time
for Harris and Associates Engineering Consultants be extended, and that Council approve
a modification to agreement 7849 in an amount not to exceed $78,950, for a total contract
cost of $579,292.
