a pa:-cel of CIty property located at the Northeast corner of
TweDty Sixth Street ar.d Clover fIeld Boulevard (See attached map.)

space for developmer.t of the adJaceDt property.
Mr'. HumIston has submItted ar:. offer of $220,000 for the purchase
of thIS p:-operty. ThlS amouTlt: IS based on an M.A.I. app:'aIsal
cor.ducted at the dIrectlOr.. of the City. The appraIsal amour..t IS
based on the premlse that the SUbJect land wlll be used u:

Staff recommends the sale of thIS property for the followl~g

1 . The sale prIce, $220,000 IS a sigrnflcar.t amount that
wIll add to the CIty'S Gas Tax fund balal1ce. Cu:-rently,
the p:-operty IS b)",lr.gl~g In r.o rever.ue.
2. Sale of the p:'operty wIll also add to the CIty'S assessed
valuatIon tax base. The CIty'S share of property tax
:-ever.ue wIll Increase by approxImately $300.00 per year
as estImated by the CIty'S Fi~ance Depa.tmer::t.
3. The CIty has no cur:,er.t or lor.g term plans for use of the
property except for utIlIty easements WhICh wIll be
protected 1 f the sale occurs.

deposlted ~nto Gas Tax Revenue account cumber 43-905-086-000-000.
Cost of the appraIsal, $1,500.00, WIll be re~mbursed to the CIty
by the purchaser.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SANTA MONICA WAIVING ADVERTISEMENT
REQUIREMENTS AND AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF A
PARCEL OF PROPERTY LOCATED ADJACENT TO 1723
CLOVERFIELD BOULEVARD AND DIRECTING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE
THE SALE
WHEREAS, the CIty of Santa MonIca acquIred the property
descrIbed in SectIon 2 of this Resolution in November of 1958 for
the purpose of extendIng Twenty SIxth Street from Colorado
Boulevard to Clove:-fIeld; and the use of the property hereunder
descrIbed; and
WHEREAS, staff has determined that the property
described I~ Section 2 of this Resolution IS no longer needed for
the purpose acqui~ed ar.d that said property is not needed for any
publIC pU~pose; a~d
WHEREAS, the CIty has received an offer to purchase the
property described in Section 2 of thIS Resolution at Its hIghest
use, which :s in connect lOr.. wIth adJacer..t property, such offer
bel~g $220,000 f~om a ~r. George HumIston; and

because to advertIse for bIds would be to no avail and would
cause unnecessary expense and delay and because It IS not in the
best Interests of the City.
