This report recommends an award of bId to furnish and deliver miscellaneous fue' , 011,
water, air and hydraulic filters for the Transit Mamtenance DIvIsion, Transportation
Department at specified unIt pnces and two one year renewal options Includmg applicable
sales tax The estimated annual expenditure IS $50,000 00
Background
In response to published Notices InvIting BIds (published June 19 and 22, 1998) In
accordance wIth CIty speCifications, bids were receIved and publicly opened and read on
June 3D, 1998 Proposal forms were maIled to seven vendors and notices were
advertIsed In accordance with City Charter and MUnicipal Code prOVISions Seven

These FIlters wIll be used by TransportatIon MaIntenance DIVISIon as replacement filters
on buses of the MUnicIpal Bus Lme and FIre Department vehIcles
Staff has evaluated the bid submitted by Muncie Reclamation and Supply Co and finds
that It meets City specifications

accounts of the Transportation Department As matenals are drawn out of Inventory, they
will be expensed agamst available FY1998-99 appropriation authority

It IS recommended that the award of BId #2715 be made to MuncIe ReclamatIon and
Supply Co at specIfIed Unit prices, mcludmg applIcable sales tax with two one-year
renewal optIons, as the lowest responsIble bIdder
