In response to published Notices InViting Bids (published June 15 and June 16, 1998) In
accordance WIth CIty speCIfications, bIds were receIved and publicly opened and read on
June 26, 1998 Proposal forms were mailed to four vendors and notices were advertised

Fiscal Year 1998-99 appropriation authority for this purchase IS In the maintenance
account of various departments As the materials are drawn out of Inventory, they Will be
expensed against available FY 1998-99 appropriation authonty
Recommendation
It IS recommended that the award of SId #2712 be made to Pacific States cast Iron PIpe
Company, at speclfred Unit pnces, plus applicable sales tax, as the lowest responsible
