Introduction
This report recommends that the City Council waIve the competitive bidding reqUIrement
and authonze the City Manager to negotiate and execute a sole source purchase order
With New Flyer Parts to furnish and deliver onglnal eqUIpment manufactured (0 EM) bus
parts for the TransportatIon Department's New Flyer buses
Background
New Flyer 0 E M bus parts are used to repair and replace worn-out bus engine parts for
the recently purchased New Flyer Buses New Flyer Parts IS the sole manufacturer and
dlstnbutor of these parts Ordmance Number 1743(CCS), Section 5, paragraph 224080
of the Santa MOnica MUnicipal Code allows exception to competitive bidding when Items
are purchased from a sole source manufacturer/dlstnbutor
