This report recommends an award of bid to furnish and deliver three hundred seventy-five
(375) 95-gallon refuse carts and two hundred fifty (250) 68-gallon refuse carts for the Solid
Waste DIvIsion, EnVironmental and Pubhc Works Management Department, at specified
Unit prices, In the total amount of $29,638 85, Including apphcable sales tax
Backaround
In response to published Notices InVIting Bids (published September 30 and
October 1, 1997) to furnish and dehver Refuse Carts m accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on October 14, 1997
Proposal forms were mailed to two vendors and notices were advertised In accordance
with City Charter and MUniCipal Code provisions Two proposals were received as follows

Improvement Budget, account number 27 -710-441-20096-8900-99227, "Refuse

Recommendation
It IS recommended that the award of Bid #2664 be made to Schaefer Systems
International, Inc at specified Unit prices, plus applicable sales tax, as the lowest
responsIble bIdder
