Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to furnish, deliver, and assemble outdoor bleachers
for the Parks and Sports DIvISion, Community and Cultural Services Department In the
total amount of $53,666 71, mcludlng applicable sales tax
Backaround
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published May 22 and 23, 1998) In
accordance With City speCifications. bids were received and publicly opened and read on
June 2, 1998 Proposal forms were mailed to five (5) vendors and notices were advertised
In accordance With City Charter and MUnicipal Code prOVIsions Three (3) proposals were
received as follows

These new bleachers will be used by the Parks and Sports DIvIsIon to replace non-repairable
bleachers located at Clover Park, Los Amlgos Park, Memorial Park, and Stewart Park
The low bid submitted by The Wakefield Company IS non-responsive because they did not
bid on assembled bleachers as reqUired In City specificatIons Because of restricted access
space, many of the bleachers reqUire on-site assembly
Staff has evaluated the bid submitted by Tomark Sports, and finds that It meets City

Recommendation
It IS recommended that Council reject the bid submitted by The Wakefield Company and that
award of Bid #2700 be made to Tomark Sports In the total amount of $53,666 71 Including
applicable sales tax, as the most responSible bidder
