This report concerns an award of bid to furnish, delIver and Install twenty-two (22)
personal computers for tl1e Transportation Department In the total amount of
$52,273 93, Includmg applicable sales tax

In response to published Notices Invltmg Bids (pubhshed March 11 and 12, 1997) In
accordance wIth CIty speCIfIcatIons, bIds were receIved and publicly opened a"d read
on March 26, 1997 Proposal forms were mailed to SIX (6) vendors and notices were
advertised In accordance wIth City Charter and MUniCipal Code provIsIons Five (5)
proposals were received as follows

Elg hteen of the twenty-two personal computers will replace eXlstmg older computers
currently bemg used by staff throughout the Transportation Department The older
eqUIpment cannot support current applications and software programs necessary to
process variOUS reports and schedules Four computers Will be Installed In functions
that are not currently computerized
The bid submitted by Alpha & Omega Computer Systems (WMBE) IS non-responsive
because the options reqUIred In the bid specifications were not Included In the bid
Bidders were reqUired to submit bids for optional eqUIpment (monitors, mouse and
keyboards) to be ordered as needed by the Transportation department
Staff has evaluated the next low bid, checked references, and finds that It meets City
speCifications

amount of $52.273 93, including applicable sales tax, as the lowest responSIble bidder
