ThIs report concerns rejection of all bIds to furnIsh and delIver TransIt MIX, Portland Cement
Class 520-C-2500 for the Street Maintenance DIvIsion, Environmental and Public Works
Management Department
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting BIds (published August 1 and 2, 1996) to furnish
and deliver Transit MIx Portland Cement Class 520-C-2500 In accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on August 19, 1996
Proposal forms were mailed to three vendors and notices were advertised In accordance
with City Charter and MUnicipal Code provIsions Two proposals were received as follows

Greene's Ready MIX Concrete Co $49 25
Catalina Pacific Concrete Co $49 50

Staff has evaluated the bIds and finds that the quality of the concrete may be compromIsed
based upon the delivery time and distance It travels to Job sites
