Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1) new gasoline powered
cab and chassIs for the Environmental Programs DiVISion. EnvIronmental and Public
Works Management Department, In the total amount of $23,469 00, including applicable
sales tax

In response to published Notices InViting Bids (published December 12 and 13, 1996)
to furnish and deliver one (1) new cab and chassis In accordance with City
speCificatIons, bids were received and publicly opened and read on December 23, 1996.
Proposal forms were mailed to seven (7) vendors and notices were advertised In
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code proVisions. Three (3) proposals were
received as follows.

This cab and chasSis will be used by the Environmental Pr09rams DIvIsion for the
Household Hazardous Waste collection program.
The purchase of this gasoline powered vehicle is consistent with the City'S reduced
emissions fuel policy. There IS no Callfomla Air Resources Board (CARB) approved
conversion kit available for this vehicle at this time and there IS no estimate of when a
CARB approved conversion kit will be available to convert the vehicle to compressed
natural gas (CNG)
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that It meets City speCifications
