Introduction
ThiS report concerns an award of bid to provide pickup, rebUild, and delivery of
generators, starters, alternators, regulators and blower motors for the Maintenance
DIVIsion, Transportation Department, at specified Unit prices, plus applicable sales tax
Estimated annual usage IS $40,000.00

In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published December 2 and 3, 1996) to
provide pickup, rebuild and delivery of generators, starters, alternators, regulators and
blower motors In accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publicly
opened and read on December 12, 1996. Proposal forms were mailed to five (5)
vendors and notices were advertised In accordance With City Charter and MUnicipal
Code proviSions. Four proposals were received as follows'

These are rebuilt parts for the electrical system to be used on all of the buses.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that It meets City speCifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1996-97 appropriation authOrity for this purchase IS In the maintenance
accounts of the Transportation Department As the materials are drawn out of
Inventory, they Will be expensed against these accounts
Recommendation
It IS recommended that the award of Bid #2611 be made to Warren Distributing, Inc. at
speCified Unit prices, plus applicable sales tax, as the lowest responSible bidder.
