Introduction
This report recommends award of bid to furnIsh and deliver one 3/4 ton pIckup 4X4 with a
body designed for use by the Ammal Regulation Unit, Police Department, at a total cost of
$38.845 51, Includmg applicable sales tax
Background
This vehicle was approved as an enhancement In FY 98/99 and wIll be used by Animal
Regulations Umt to transport various animals while enforcing CIty animal regulations
In response to published Notices Invltmg Bids (published June 3 and 4, 1999) m
accordance with City specifIcations, bids were received and publicly opened and read on
June 15, 1999 Proposal forms were mailed to 74 vendors and notices were advertised m
accordance with City Charter and Mumclpal Code provIsions Four proposals were
received as follows

CARB approved kit will be available
Staff has evaluated the bid by Maunce Sopp & Son for a Chevrolet truck and finds that It
meets City speCifications
