DATES FOR BUDGET STUDY SESSIONS AND ADOPTION OF
FY1993/94 CITY BUDGET
Staff recommends that City Council study sessions on the proposed
FY1993/94 City Budget be scheduled for the evenings of Monday,
June 7; Wednesday, June 9; and Thursday, June 10. Sessions will
begin at 6:00 p.m.
Adoption of the FY1993/94 city Budget will be scheduled on the
agenda of Tuesday, June 22, 1993.

SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Contract to Provide Financing
for the Purchase of Super Vac Brand Air and Light
support Disaster Vehicle with Compressor and Cascade
system
Introduction
This report requests that city Council award a contract to
Muni-Group to provide financing for the purchase of Super Vac
Brand Air and Light support Disaster Vehicle with Compressor and
Cascade System for the Fire Department, in the total amount of
$285,151.00 (including interest).
Background
In response to the city's request for proposals to provide
lease-purchase financing over five years for the Super Vac Brand
Air and Light Support Disaster Vehicle with Compressor and
Cascade System, three proposals were received as follows and read
on April 19, 1993:

This vehicle will be used as an air fill station for Self
Contained Breathing Apparatus on a routine basis. It will also
be used as an emergency power and lighting system in the event of
a disaster I and to carry heavy search and rescue equipment as
required.
It is replacing an existing vehicle whose chassis is twenty years
old and body over fifty years old which will be retired from
service. The existing vehicle does not have the air fill station
capability for daily operations nor the lighting and power system
needed in the event of a disaster.
staff has evaluated the low proposal and finds that it represents
the best lease-purchase cost.

cab/chassis portion of this vehicle was paid in the amount of
$44,025.28.
staff is requesting the remaining balance owed on
the vehicle ($244,271.53) be financed over a five year period at
an annual interest rate of 5.39%.
Recommendation
It is recommended that a contract to provide financing for the
lease-purchase of the Super Vac Brand Air and Light Support
Disaster Vehicle with Compressor and Cascade System be awarded to
Muni-Group as the best bidder.
