SUBJECT : Recorrmendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver Two
(2) New, Agricultural-type, 2-Wheel Drive Tractors with
Enclosed Cabs/ Bid #2505
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver two (2)
new agricultural type 2-wheel drive tractors with enclosed cabs for
the Beach Maintenance Division, Environmental and Public works
Management Department, in the total amount of $124,888.03 including
applicable sales tax.
Backaround
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published June 13-
14, 1994) to furnish and deliver two (2) new agricultural-type 2-
wheel drive tractors with enclosed cabs, in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on
June 28, 1994. Proposal forms were mailed to five vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with City Charter and
Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:

The tractors are to be used by the BeaCh Maintenance Division for

pulling beach sanitizers, surf rakers, and other tools used lTI
rraintaining the City's beaches.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
Budaet/Financial Imoact

Appropriation authority for this purchase is in the Capital
Improvements Program budget, account number 11-740-521-20094-8900-
992331 Beach Maintenance Equipment Replacement.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2505 be made to Staben
Equipment Co. in the total amount of $1241888.03 including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
