Backqround In response to published Notices Inv1t1ng Blds (publlshed May 31 and June I, 1994) to furnish and deliver duct1le lron bell and spigot pipe class 50, tyton Joint, ln accordance with City spec1fications, bids were received and publicly opened and read on June 9, 1994 Proposal forms were mailed to six vendors and notices were advertised 1n accordance with City Charter and Munic1pal Code provislons. Due to the low usage of 4U plpe, (500 feet annually), it is not economically feasible to spIlt the bid award. Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that lt meets City specificatlons. Budqet/Financlal Impact Fiscal Year 1994/95 approprlat1on authority for this purchase 1S in the malntenance account of various departments. As the materials are drawn out of inventory, they will be expensed against available FY 1994/95 appropr1ation authorlty. Recommendat1on It 18 recommended that the award of Bid #2497 be made to Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company, at specified unlt prices, plus applicable sales tax, and two one-year renewal options, as the lowest and best bidder.
