Insulated Personnel Lift, Bld #2491
Introduction
This report concerns award of bld to furnish and deliver one (1)
new 33,000 GVWR dlesel-powered cab and chassis with mounted 65-foot
insulated personnel lift for the Parks and Sports Dlvls1on,
Communlty and Cultural Servlces Department, in the total amount of
$120,291.49 lnclud1ng applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notlces Invitlng Blds (publlshed Ap~il 25
and 26, 1994) to furnlsh and dellver one (1) new 33,000 GVWR
dlesel-powered cab and chassis wlth mounted 65-foot insulated
personnel 11ft in accordance wlth City spec1fications, b1ds were
recelved and publlcly opened and read on June 16, 1994. Proposal
forms were mailed to th1rteen (13) vendors and notices were
advertlsed in accordance w1th City Charter and Municipal Code
provisions Two (2) proposals were rece1vec as follows:

Th~s vehicle will be used for tree trimming and prun1ng throughout
the C~ty's streets, parkways and bu~ld1ng sites. The purchase of
thlS d~esel-powered vehicle 1S cons~stent with the Clty'S reduced
emissions fuel POllCY ThlS vehlcle is a speclalty vehlcle and
cannot be conf~gured to accept a reduced emlSSlons fuel.
Staff has evaluated the low bid and flnds that it meets City
specifications.
Budqet(Financlal Impact
Funds for purchase of this veh1cle are in the Cap1tal Improvement
Program, 01-740-511-20094-8900-99515, "Replace Tree Tr1mm~ng Aerial
Lift Truck," 1n the amount of $90,000, and 01-740-511-20094-8900-
99514, IITree Malntenance Equipment Upgrade," in the amount of
$30,291. 49.
Recommendation
It 1S recommended that the award of Bid #2491 be made to Fred
Boerner Truck Center 1n the total amount of $120,291.49, includ~ng
applicable sales tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
