INTRODUCTION
This report recommends that, for the upcoming City Career and Busmess Fair, City Council
waive the polley prohibIting the Inclusion In City mass mailings references to orgamzatlons
which regularly take pOSitions on electoral matters
BACKGROUND
In 1995, the Personnel Department and the Commission of the Status of Women
presented a Career and BUSiness Fair to provide career and bUSiness chOices to members
ofthe community In order to Increase partiCipation among employers and faCIlitate greater
outreach mto the community, the CIty proposes to co-sponsor thiS year's Career and
Busmess Fair With a number of community organizations, Including the Commission on the
Status of Women, the Santa Momca Chamber of Commerce and the Santa MOnica Job
Developers' Network

It IS recommended that for the annually scheduled Career and BUSiness FaIr, City Council
