Cab and Chassis with 10 Ton Rated Telescoping Type
Crane, Bid #2347
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one (1)
new 27,500 GVWR Cab and Chassis with 10 Ton Rated Telescoping
Type Crane for the Electrical Facilities Division, General
Services Department, in the total amount of $63,763.55, including
applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
February 11 and 12, 1991) to furnish and deliver one (1) new
27,500 GVWR Cab and Chassis with 10 Ton Rated Telescoping Type
Crane in accordance with City specifications, bids were received
and publicly opened and read on March 5, 1991. Proposal forms
were mailed to fifteen vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance with City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. six
proposals were received as follows:

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets city
specifications.
Budget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Capital Improvement Program budget, account number
01-770-453-20091-8900-99266, "Replace Electrical Crane Truck".
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2347 be made to
Carmenita Truck Center in the total amount of $63,763.55,
including applicable sales tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
