GS:SES:LR:caj/CC1262.word.engine Council Meeting: April 23, 1991 APFi ~. = Santa Monica, California TO: Mayor and City Council FROM: City staff SUBJECT: Award of Contract to Repair Existing Buildings at 415 Pacific Coast Highway Introduction This report recommends that the city Council award a contract to repair the buildings at 415 Pacific Coast Highway to C. R. Moore, Inc. , the lowest responsible bidder, in the amount of $128,479.00. Background This report is requesting that funds be awarded for the repair of existing buildings at 415 Pacific Coast Highway. Part of the repair work will include, the implementation of Title 24 Code requirements (Handicap)at all entryways and thresholds throughout the facility. Code work also includes a new handicap accessible female shower and restroom on the first floor, and installation of handicap accessible fixtures in the existing male shower and restroom. In addition, new walls and floors will be constructed in the main kitchen and dining halls to comply with current health code requirements; roof repairs will be made; and minimal interior painting and electrical work will be completed. The Cultural and Recreation Services Department plans to offer the site for event and meeting rentals as well as filming. A Notice Inviting Bids was published on March 29 and 30, 1991 in the Evening Outlook and four construction journals, and was sent to eight WHBE associations. Plans and specifications were issued to 9 contractors. Bids were received and read publicly on April 15, 1991, by the Deputy City Clerk. 4 bids were received as follows: C. R.
