Subject: Resolution Establishing a parking Zone for the
Physically Handicapped Adjacent to 1671 18th Street
Introduction
This report recommends that the city council approve the attached
resolution to establish a parking zone for the physically
handicapped adjacent to 167l 18th street.
Backqround
On May 27, 1980, the city Council adopted an ordinance to enable
the establishment of parking zones for the physically
handicapped. Under this ordinance such a zone may be established
by resolution of the city council upon request by an individual
and verification by the City Parking and Traffic Engineer.
Staff has received a request from a resident for the installation
of physically handicapped zone adjacent to 1671 18th Street.
staff has reviewed this request and finds that the zone meets all
the appropriate requirements.

Budqet/Financial Impact
There is no budget or fiscal impact resulting from this request.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the city Council adopt the attached
resolution estalishing a parking zone for the physically
handicapped adjacent to 1671 18th street.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED
ZONES ADJACENT TO 1671 18th street
WHEREAS, the city council of the city of Santa Mon~ca has
enacted an ordinance enabling individuals to request parking zones
for physically handicapped persons; and
WHEREAS, the City has received a request for parking zones
for the phys~cally handicapped: and
WHEREAS, the Parking and Traffic Engineer has considered
the requests and concluded, based upon the factors stated in
Munic~pal Code Section 3366A, that a phys~cally handicapped zone
may be installed at the requested location,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That a zone for the physically handicapped is
hereby established adjacent to 1671 18th Street
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall cert~fy to the adopt~on of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
