SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
One ( 1) New Supervan Ambulance, Bid 2351
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one ( 1)
New Supervan ~~bulance for the Fire suppression Division, Fire
Department, in the total amount of $49,220.00, including
applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published March 7
and 8, 1991) to furnish and deliver one (1) new Supervan
Ambulance in accordance with City specifications, bids were
received and pUblicly opened and read on March 25, 1991.
Proposal forms were mailed to seven vendors and notices were
advertised in accordance with city Charter and Municipal Code
provisions. Two proposals were received as follows:
Leader Industries -$49,220.00
Maloney Industries-$55,969.56 6

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
BUdget/Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Fire Suppression Division, Fire Department, account
number 01-310-313-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2351 be made to Leader
Industries in the total amount of $49,220.00, including
applicable sales tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
