Subject: Resolution Establishing Parking Zones for the
physically Handicapped Adjacent to 2927 Urban and
1319 Chelsea Avenue
Introduction
This report recommends that the City Council approve the attached
resolution to establish parking zones for the physically
handicapped adjacent to 2927 Urban and 1319 Chelsea Avenues.
Backqround
On May 27, 1980, the City Council adopted an ordinance to enable
the establishment of parking zones for the physically handicapped.
Under this ordinance such zones may be established by resolution of
the city Council upon request by an individual and verification by
the city Parking and Traffic Engineer.
Staff has received requests from residents for the installation of
physically handicapped zones adjacent to 2927 Urban and 1319
Chelsea Avenues.
Staff has reviewed these requests and finds that the zones meet all
appropriate requirements.
Budget/Financial Impact
There is no budget or fiscal impact resulting from these requests.

Recommendation
It is recommended that the city council adopt the attached
resolution establishing a parking zones for the physically
handicapped adjacent to 2927 Urban and 1319 Chelsea Avenue

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SANTA MONICA ESTABLISHING PHYSICALLY HANDICAPPED
ZONES ADJACENT TO 2927 URBAN AND 1319 CHELSEA AVENUES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Monica has
enacted an ordinance enabling individuals to request parking zones
for physically handicapped persons; and
WHEREAS, the City has received two requests for parking
zones for the physically handicapped; and
WHEREAS, the Parking and Traffic Engineer has considered
the requests and concluded, based upon the factors stated in
Municipal Code Section 3366A, that physically handicapped zones
may be installed at the requested locations,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA
MONICA DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That zones for the physically handicapped are
hereby established adjacent to 2927 Urban and 1319 Chelsea Avenues
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
