SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver
One (1) New 8,500 Gross Vehicle Weight Rated (GVWR) Cab
and Chassis with 8' Stake Body, Bid 2325
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver one ( 1)
New 8,500 Gross Vehicle Weight Rated (GVWR) Cab and Chassis with
8 I stake Body for the Water Division, General Services
Department, in the total amount of $16,166.70, including
applicable sales tax.
Background
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published
January 7 and 8, 1991) to furnish and deliver one (1) new 8,500
GVWR Cab and Chassis with 8 I Stake Body in accordance with City
specifications, bids were received and publicly opened and read
on February 5, 1991. Bids were requested for "alternate fuel
(propane)" powered vehicles in accordance with the Air Quality
Management District requirements to comply with clean air
standards. Proposal forms were mailed to seventeen vendors and
notices were advertised in accordance with city Charter and
Municipal Code provisions. Four proposals were received as

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
BUdget(Financia1 Impact
Fiscal Year 1990/91 appropriation authority for this purchase is
in the Water Division, General Services Department, account
number 25-500-671-00000-8806-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2325 be made to Santa
Monica Ford in the total amount of $16,166.70, including
applicable tax, as the lowest and best bidder.
