SUBJECT: Recommendatlon to Award Bid to Furnish and Deliver 2-
Cubic Yard Metal Refuse Containers, Bid #2543
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnlsh and dellver 2-cubic
yard metal refuse containers for the Solid Waste Division,
Environmental and Public Works Management Department, at specifled
unit prices, plus appllcable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published May 25,
26, 1995) to furnish and deliver 2-cubic yard metal refuse
containers in accordance with Clty speciflcatlons, bids were
recelved and publicly opened and read on June 12, 1995.
Proposal
forms were mailed to two vendors and notices were advertised in
accordance wlth City Charter and Munlclpal Code provisions. Two
proposals were received as follows:

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
specifications.
Budqet(Financial Impact
Fiscal Year 1995-96 appropriatlon authority for this purchase is
in the Solid Waste Management Division, Envlronmental and PubllC
Works Management Department, account number 27-500-441-00000-4425-
00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2543 be made to
Consolidated Fabricators Corp. at specified unlt prices plus
appllcable tax, as the lowest responsible bldder.
