SR-6-N (60) 6 N PURCH:PW:TB:br:f:\finance\purch\stfrpts\srbd2536 Council Meeting: June 27, 1995 Santa Mon~ca, CA JUN 2 7 1995 TO: Mayor and C~ty Council FROM: City Staff SUBJECT: Recommendation to Award Bid to Furnish and Del~ver Pull Boxes and Covers, Bid #2536 Introduction Th~s report concerns award of b1d to furnish and deliver pull boxes and covers at specified unit prices, plus applicable sales tax, with two one-year renewal options. Backqround In response to published Notices Invltlng Bids (published May 23 and 24, 1995) to furnish and del~ver pull boxes and covers in accordance with City specifications, bids were received and publ~cly opened and read on June 5, 1995. Proposal forms were mailed to two vendors and notices were advertised in accordance wlth City Charter and Municipal Code provisions. Two proposals were rece1ved as shown in the attached tabulation. The ltems covered by this bid include various pull boxes and covers utilized to repa~r and maintain power sources throughout the City. Eisel Enterprises, Inc. was the low bidder on four of the flve items. Staff has reviewed the proposals and finds that ~t would not be economically feasible to split the b~d award. i JUN 2 7 1995 6 t~ - 1 - Staff has evaluated the bid submitted by Eisel Enterprises, Inc. and f1nds that 1t meets C1ty specifications. Budqet!FinanC1al Impact Fiscal Year 1995-96 appropriation authority for this purchase 1S 1n the maintenance accounts of var10US departments. As the materials are drawn out of inventory, they will be expensed aga1nst available FY 1995-96 appropriation authority.
