Trans1t Mix, Portland Cement Concrete, Bid #2531
Introduction
This report concerns award of bid to furnish and deliver trans1t
m1X, Portland Cement Concrete for the Street Maintenance Division,
Environmental and Public Works Management Department, at specified
unit price, including applicable sales tax.
Backqround
In response to published Notices Inviting Bids (published May 16,
17, 1995) to Furnish and del1ver Transit Mix, Portland Cement
Concrete in accordance wlth City speclficatlons, bids were received
and publicly opened and read on May 30, 1995. Proposal forms were
mailed to three vendors and notices were advertised 1n acc-ordance
with City Charter and Mun1cipal Code provisions. Two proposals
were received as follows.
VENDOR PER CUB I C YARD
Catalina Pacific Concrete $50.50
Livingston Graham $57.54
The transit mlX and concrete cement w1ll be used to f1X C1ty
sidewalks, curbs and gutters.

Staff has evaluated the low bid and finds that it meets City
speclflcations.
Budqet/Financlal Impact
Fiscal Year 1995-96 appropriatlon authorlty for this purchase is in
the Street Maintenance Division, Environmental and Public Works
Management Department, account number 01-500-421-00000-4414-00000.
Recommendation
It is recommended that the award of Bid #2531 be made to Catalina
Paclfic Concrete at speclfied unlt price plus applicable tax, as
the lowest and best bidder.
